Durga Puja Special Assembly
Spirit of Durga Puja was celebrated in a Special Assembly in Junior School. The programme was attended by the parent and children of Junior School. Senior citizens from old age home “Navanir” were special invitees. The school principal, Ms. Joyoti Chaudhuri graced the occasion. The highlights of the programme were melodious songs, colourful dances, recitation and enactment.
Teachers’ Day celebration in Junior school
Teachers’ Day was celebrated in Delhi Public School Ruby Park Junior School on 4.9.19. Students of Nursery, LKG, UKG and Class 1 presented a colourful morning assembly for their teachers. Rhymes, dance and recitation were a few of the items presented by the students.
The audience comprised of the Head Mistress, teachers and staff of junior school.
No Fire Cookery Activity
No Fire Cookery Activity was conducted to celebrate Rakshabandhan. Children made several sweet /mithai items in class. Choco Balls, Crunchy Munchy, Cheesy Jam Crunch, Jelly Poppers, Coconut Balls are a few of the items made by the children. Children enjoyed making and eating the sweets. Students also offered the sweets made by them to the School Principal.
Celebration of Doctor’s Week
Children were made aware 0f the importance of doctors and medical science in our society . Some students of Nursery and LKG dressed up as doctors and did a role play activity showing how doctors treat patients. A PPT was shown in all the classes about the importance of First Aid Kits and what are the different tools used in hospitals.
As a part of the celebration of Doctor’s Week , Dr.Soubarno Roy (Oral medicine) and Dr. Shoubhango Chakraborty ( Paediatric dentistry) were invited to address the children about oral hygiene. They showed a PPT on oral care in the form of a story and interacted with the students. Children enjoyed the interaction thoroughly.
Van Mahotsav Assembly
Van Mahotsav was celebrated throughout the week by several activities. Children planted seeds in small pots, made collages of trees with coloring, thumb printing, vegetable printing etc. A morning assembly was held in which children planted saplings, sang a song, recited a poem and presented a skit to convey the message of importance of trees in our lives. The school Principal, Ms. Joyoti Chaudhuri, graced the occasion.
Story Quiz
A Story Quiz was planned for UKG and Class 1, to encourage children read story books. Preliminary Round was conducted in the month of July to select the children for the final.
The finalists of Preliminary Round of Story Quiz participated in the Final Round, on this day. Audience comprised of the students of Junior School. Children enjoyed the quiz very much. There were questions for the audience too.
National Reading Day & Month
Delhi Public School Ruby Park Junior School celebrated National Reading Day and Month by several interesting activities. Students were encouraged to read story books and discuss the stories in class. They enthusiastically spoke about their favourite story characters and shared story books among them.
Several activities, such as story telling with puppets , Story mapping , digital reading in Ipad Lab ,group reading in library and in the classrooms, role play of favourite character etc. were conducted during this period.
A story Quiz has been planned end July, as a culmination activity to encourage reading habit among children.
Students of Junior School enthusiastically participated in all activities during this month.
